"My first night with NŪDL Sleep and I felt calm. I had less anxiety and I knew I'd hit REM sleep, which is rare nowadays. I recalled a dream about a ski trip with my mother nearly forty years ago. Most importantly, it felt like the hinges to my memory locker had some WD-40."

NŪDL Science
With approximately 60 million people worldwide living with Alzheimer's disease and 10 million new cases diagnosed each year, we all have good reason to be proactive with our brain health. NŪDL drinks are a groundbreaking line of functional beverages with a goal to help you live your best life. Our core ingredients include:

MCT Oil
MCT oil has shown promising benefits for brain health, including improved cognitive function and energy levels. Studies suggest that it can enhance brain energy, potentially delay brain aging, and support good gut bacteria, which may reduce brain inflammation.

Vitamin B12
Vitamin B12 plays a crucial role in brain health, supporting nerve function and potentially impacting cognitive abilities, particularly in older adults. It's essential for producing neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine, which influence mood and mental clarity.

Ginseng
Emerging evidence suggests that ginseng, a traditional herbal medicine used for prevention and treatment of various diseases, improves cognition in people presenting with memory impairment, mild cognitive impairment, and early Alzheimer's disease dementia.

Vitamin D3
Studies suggest that higher vitamin D3 levels in the brain are associated with better cognitive function, a lower risk of dementia, and a slower progression of cognitive decline. Vitamin D3's neuroprotective effects may involve mechanisms like reducing oxidative stress, preventing neuronal death, and promoting the clearance of amyloid plaques.

Selenium
Selenium plays a role in brain health by supporting cognitive function, potentially protecting against neurodegenerative diseases, and influencing brain development and function. It acts as an antioxidant, helps regulate various brain processes, and may contribute to healthy brain aging.

L-Theanine
L-theanine benefits include reduced stress and anxiety, improved sleep quality, and enhanced cognitive function like attention and memory. It promotes relaxation by increasing alpha brain waves and regulating neurotransmitters such as GABA, dopamine, and serotonin

MCT Oil & Dr. Mary Newport
In 2008, Dr. Mary Newport who specialized in newborn intensive care saw her husband Steve suffering from early dementia. She took him to the Byrd Alzheimer's Institute to be screened for a new study and prayed that he’d score in the mild-to-moderate range for Alzheimer's symptoms because the company didn't want anyone too severe. Her heart sank however, when Steve scored just 12 out of 30; he needed to score 16 to be accepted. She continued her online research and made an interesting discovery: a patent for a drug whose main ingredient was medium chain triglycerides (MCT), the same ingredient found in large quantities in coconut oil had recently been filed. A small study found that the drug helped slow and even reverse the effects of Alzheimer's in a significant percentage of those tested. But the drug wasn't on the market yet.
On her way home from another hospital visit, Dr. Newport thought about her research on MCT and, out of sheer desperation, drove an hour out of her way to the only health food store in the area. She poured a couple of tablespoons of MCT on Steve's oatmeal the next morning, then stirred in a couple more with his dinner. She drove him back to USF the next afternoon to take the test again, and to her relief, Steve scored an 18 this time. Although Steve was accepted into the trial, Dr. Newport thought she might be onto something and continued feeding him coconut oil. She said his personality returned, the hitch in his step went away and he began to read again.
Fast forward 15 years and MCT oil has shown promising benefits for brain health, including improved cognitive function and energy levels. Studies suggest that it can enhance brain energy, potentially delay brain aging, and support good gut bacteria, which may reduce brain inflammation. MCT oil is a good source of energy for brain cells because it is easily absorbed and converted into ketones, which can pass through the blood-brain barrier. In a 2022 study by the National Institute of Health, 20 subjects, average age 72.6 years, 80% remained stable or improved with MCT treatment. The study also suggested that longer continuous intake of MCT oil provides greater cognitive benefit and that long‐term supplemental MCT at a maximum daily dose of 42g was safe, with no adverse effects on serum lipid profiles, body fat composition, or glucose metabolism.

3 Reasons Why NŪDL
-
The lifetime risk of developing dementia can be as high as 42%.
-
36% of people under 50 and nearly one-fourth of individuals aged 50-64 said they have experienced memory or brain health issues but were too afraid to seek help.
-
For individuals with Alzheimer's, a focus on hydration and nutrient-rich drinks is crucial because dehydration can worsen dementia symptoms like confusion and irritability, while also increasing the risk of falls and infections.

Our Story
Our founder and CEO watched firsthand the devastatingly abrupt health effects of Alzheimer’s after his mother Nancy was diagnosed in 2015 with early-onset dementia. Only three years later she died from complications of the disease while living in an assisted living facility. Approximately 60 million people worldwide are living with Alzheimer's disease right now. Around 10 million new cases are diagnosed each year. Our aim is to create a beverage company that differs in taste and in science. NŪDL beverages are each crafted to nourish your mind while delighting your taste buds. Every sip helps you think clearer, focus and sleep better, and take greater ownership of your mental health.
